Both Nick Cave and Jim Thirlwell lived in Australia and went to (different) art schools in Melbourne.
Mick Harvey lived with Jim in London in 1981.
Jim played sax with The Birthday Party on 7/9/82 Athens, Greece on the Stooges cover
Funhouse
.
Nick and Jim were both in
The Immaculate Consumptive
.
Jim Thirlwell co-wrote
Wings Of Flies
, when he joined the very first
From Her To Eternity
sessions.
Both were involved with
Annie Hogan's Kickabye EP
and with
Lydia Lunch's Honeymoon In Red
album.
The Foetus song "Sick Man" is supposed to be about Nick! It has sometimes been suggested that Nick's
Scum
was a reply to that, but that is not true.
Jim appears in
The Road To God Knows Where
.
